On Saturday 15th April, the Ferntree Gully Cricket Club held their annual Presentation Night featuring the Andrew Downs Medal at The Knox Club.
There was certainly lots to celebrate this year with the four premierships achieved in season 22/23. Congratulations to the following teams:
- Norm Reeves 1st XI
- Vets Division 2
- Under 14s Division 1
- Under 12s Division 1
The rooms were decorated beautifully, the meals were delicious, Liam Vertigan the MC was fantastic, the award winners slide show created by Ash Powney was the best in class (as usual), the raffle was a huge success (thank you to Dione Salan for getting the prizes and Sandy Thompson and Leanne Waters for their super selling skills), the All-Abilities players and their families loved getting their trophies and being involved.
It was fantastic to see 140+ people in the room. The sponsors enjoyed their night, the camera was working overtime (thanks to Dione), the speeches were all wonderful with a few tears, the room was full of smiles and happy people. Congratulations to Lee Thompson on a wonderful first year as president and thank you to all our amazing volunteers.
Congratulations to all award winners with a special mention to premiership captain coach Josh Henry for the second year in a row taking out the Andrew Downs medal voted by the players for the best 1st Eleven player in season 22/23.
