If you’ve been wandering through the Village recently, you may have seen the new artwork featured in Horologist Lane, next to Frock Up Dancewear and the Chook Station.
The new artwork features Plant Creature Collages made by local children in a school holiday workshop. Each creature is made from dried leaves, plant samples and a little dose of imagination. The project has been overseen by Australian artist Joanne Mott.
It’s all part of the Ferntree Gully Placemaking Plan, Knox Council’s initiative to transform Ferntree Gully Village through the use of public art. The initiative also aims to attract tourism to the Village as ‘a gateway to the Dandenong Ranges.’
