Upwey Relief Centre received more community donations of food, batteries, etc. as well as offers of help today (Wednesday) and we have forwarded them to the Belgrave Community Hub for distribution to those in need. The local community has been fantastic and it is heart warming to see the assistance received at the Upwey Township Hall.
As we are not getting many people coming in needing assistance future assistance will now be available at the Belgrave Community Hub. Upwey Men’s Shed will revert back to operating at our normal hours next week commencing 28 June which will be Monday and Wednesday mornings 9am to 12 noon at the Upwey Township Hall. Any future offers of help or donations can be forwarded to the Belgrave Community Hub where assistance is available for those in need.
Thank you to all who made the effort to have the Upwey Township Hall available to people who were adversely impacted by the recent storm. In particular I would like to thank members of the Upwey community, Upwey Men’s Shed, Upwey Township Group and Soupees for providing assistance and to Upwey IGA and Upwey Village Bakery for donations of food. It was lovely to see the community coming together in times of need.
