A Message from Mayor Jake Keogh
The Dorset Road extension is finally going to be a reality.
After heavy campaigning for this since the 2016 council election, I am very excited to announce that the Federal Government, through Alan Tudge MP, have funded the Dorset Road extension and a duplication of Napoleon Road, from Kellets Road to Glenfern Road.
The Government has committed $80 million for the extension and $50 million for the duplication of Napoleon Road.
This crucial piece of road infrastructure has been talked about for decades and the announcement has come after significant advocacy and many meetings with Alan Tudge as well as State and other Federal MPs.
People have been waiting for this for so long. It is great to see that their efforts have not been in vain. This is a huge win for the community who never gave up on this project and knew the importance of it.
Thank you to all community members who advocated for this with me and thank you to Alan Tudge MP for this fantastic announcement of funding.
