The Upper Ferntree Gully Fire Brigade is pleased to announce the celebration of its centenary on 22 February 2026. In recognition of this significant milestone, a formal event will be held on 21 February for all current members, life members, their families, and associates.
To commemorate this occasion, the Brigade invites individuals with historic connections or familial ties to reach out. Of special interest are items of memorabilia, photographs from past decades, and personal stories or accounts that highlight the Brigade’s rich history.
During the 2024/2025 fire season, the Upper Gully Fire Brigade was actively engaged across several statewide campaigns, including those in Grantville, The Grampians, Balmoral, and more locally in Montrose. The recent Montrose fire provided an opportunity to effectively deploy the newly acquired Ford Ranger Ultralight vehicles, which are being introduced as part of the CFA’s ongoing fleet renewal program.
As the oldest brigade within the Knox group and one of the longest-standing community organisations in the area, the Upper Gully Fire Brigade takes pride in its enduring commitment and service. Operated entirely by volunteers, the Brigade ensures comprehensive training across a diverse range of skills. This is vital given the Brigade’s coverage of suburban areas, the grasslands of Lysterfield, the Dandenong Ranges National Park, and The Angliss Hospital.
The Upper Ferntree Gully CFA welcomes new volunteer applications, with regular training sessions conducted on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
