New CEO for Knox Council

Mr Bruce Dobson has been appointed as Knox City Council’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Mayor Lisa Cooper said Mr Dobson is a highly regarded local government leader and joins Knox City Council at an important time.

‘I congratulate Mr Dobson on his appointment to this pivotal role. He has a deep understanding of local government and community, and will play a significant role in helping Council to achieve the priorities set out in our new Community and Council Plans’, Cr Cooper said.

Bruce Dobson is an experienced senior leader with a track record of driving organisational performance and delivering superior outcomes and service to the community. He comes to Knox having served in senior executive roles at the City of Boroondara for the past 11 years across portfolios including corporate services, environment and infrastructure, customer experience and business transformation.

‘This is an exciting time to be joining Knox’, said Mr Dobson. ‘I resonate strongly with the community’s vision of connecting with our people and our environment, ensuring they are safe, supported and have every opportunity to thrive. Knox is well regarded in the local government sector, and I’m looking forward to working with the Council and staff to be the best we can be in meeting the diverse needs of the Knox community.’

Mr Dobson will commence in the role on 8 September 2021.
