Nick Wakeling, State MP for Ferntree Gully, recently visited Foothills Community Care.
I recently visited Foothills Community Care in Ferntree Gully to see the great work they were doing in preparing meals and providing a range of support to help people through these difficult times.
Foothills Community Care are a grassroots not-for-profit organisation that provides a safe place and support for people in and around Melbourne’s outer east. It has been run by a solid team of volunteers since 2002.
The coronavirus outbreak has created many challenges for Knox residents, but it is a testament to the resilience of our community that organisations like Foothills are continuing to operate and help people stay safe. As we deal with the current crisis, I want to see organisations like Foothills duly rewarded and supported so they can provide their vital services into the future.
People right across our community are putting in a great effort to keep themselves and others safe in these difficult times. As such, I thank everyone for their effort, especially those who have worked on the frontline of this crisis.
