National Tree Planting Day

Sunday 27 July is National Tree Planting Day. To celebrate, join us for a free, family-friendly event to discover the wonders of nature and contribute to the environment by planting 3,000 native trees, shrubs, and ground covers at Koolamara Waters Reserve, Ferntree Gully, a hotspot for waterbirds in Knox.
- Help support local biodiversity by strengthening habitat corridors for local fauna and flora, linking Koolamara Waters Reserve to nearby areas such as the Dandenong Ranges.
- Help us increase the tree canopy cover in Knox to 30% by 2050 in line with our Biodiversity Resilience Strategy 2024 – 2034 and Climate Response Plan.
- Meet other biodiversity enthusiasts and some of our local environmental volunteer groups.
- Enjoy a free BBQ by the Rotary Club of Ferntree Gully
- Tools for planting are provided.
- Please supply your own gloves and drink bottle.
