Angliss Hospital: exciting developments in Ferntree Gully

By Daniela De Martino

As your local MP, I am proud to share some important updates and initiatives that are making a real and positive difference in the health and well-being of our community. From forums addressing womenโ€™s pain to new healthcare facilities, these efforts are all about improving access to quality healthcare and support services.

June 12th marked a significant milestone for our community with the commencement of the $112 million redevelopment of Angliss Hospital. Minister for Health Infrastructure, Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas, joined me and Member for Bayswater, Jackson Taylor MP to turn the first sod.ย

The upcoming four-storey building will feature a 32-bed inpatient unit, four operating theatres, an upgraded central sterile supply department, and expanded outpatient services. The design, inspired by the natural beauty of the Dandenong Ranges, will blend beautifully into the landscape.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, this redevelopment will not only increase surgical capacity but also create up to 330 local construction jobs, boosting our local economy. Importantly, the new Angliss Hospital will be an all-electric building, reducing emissions and supporting our environmental sustainability goals.
