Many Gully residents looked to the skies on Saturday 11th May to glimpse the Aurora Australis, with a stunning display of pink, purple and green.
The Aurora could be seen from approximately 9:30pm til just after midnight, with many braving the cold to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event. People gathered at local viewing spots such as the Quarry, Tim Neville Arboretum, and Glenfern Rd to try and catch a glimpse.
While mostly invisible to the naked eye (except for a few telling bands of white across the sky), the Aurora could be seen by looking to the south and taking a photo using your cameraโs night-mode. How special to see this from our very own backyard!
