Do you know someone who has made or is making a significant difference to the lives of women and girls in the City of Knox?

If the answer is ‘yes’, have you thought about nominating them for a Knox Local Champions Gender Equality Award 2020?

Maybe you know someone, whether through a business, an organisation or as an individual, who is advocating for women and children, encouraging, supporting and inspiring the Knox community to embrace gender equality, raising awareness and taking action.

Past award winners include: a hairdresser providing free hair cuts to women exposed to family violence, a skate boarding enthusiast who started a girls’ skating group, a librarian promoting gender equal books and a businessman encouraging female inventors.

The Knox Local Champions Gender Equality Award recipients will be announced in a ceremony to be held at the Knox Civic Centre in December, as part of the International 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.

This is a free event and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
