The Victorian Government is investing $112 million to expand the Angliss in Upper Ferntree Gully, with construction of the new multi-storey building underway.
If youโve driven by the hospital lately, you will see the new building emerging from the ground โ helped along by a 23-metre tower crane. The new building will deliver a new inpatient unit, four operating theatres, a Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), and spaces for outpatient services.
The expansion will increase the amount of surgery that can be delivered at the hospital while also delivering more capacity for inpatient and outpatient services. The upgraded CSSD will give doctors and nurses the reusable medical equipment they need to get more people into treatment sooner.
The Angliss Hospital expansion is on track to be completed next year, complementing the $20 million new intensive care unit and short stay unit project which was opened in October 2018.
Once completed, residents of the Gully and beyond will have even better access to the great health care they deserve.
