Giving pre-loved toys a second life

Is your home filled with toys, puzzles or games that your kids no longer play with? Why not donate them to the Knox Toy Library?

Knox Toy Library is the biggest toy library in the south eastern suburbs. For over 40 years, the library has offered families a safe, nurturing space where children can come and play with a range of fun, educational toys, then borrow them to take home.

The library caters for children from 6 months to 6 years old. They can choose from a variety of games, puzzles, dress ups, home play activities, musical instruments, construction blocks, train sets, STEAM activities, sand and water activities, ride on toys, and more. There are also party packs you can borrow.

This not only means that you can try toys without needing to buy, but it also reduces clutter at home and saves young families money. Joining the Toy Library is also a more sustainable way to play as it means old, pre-loved toys are given a second life and avoid ending up in landfill.

There are developmental benefits as well. Each toy is designed to nurture your child’s development, with toys to build their fine motor skills, spatial awareness, problem-solving skills, and more.

So if you have little ones, why not pop down to the Toy Library and see what’s on offer? Membership is affordable, and the library is open 10am to 12pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 11-13 Gerda Street, Scoresby. For more information, visit the Knox Toy Library website.
